Nourishing Cultural Heritage: Tata Sponge hosts Odissi Dance Workshop
With a view to nourish the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Orissa, Tata Sponge, having its manufacturing facility at Bileipada in Joda Block of Keonjhar district, organized a district-level Odissi Dance Workshop recently. The event was organized with the help of District Cultural Association, Keonjhar.A total of 51 promising talents from various places like Noamundi, Bolani, Barbil, Joda, Meghahatuburu, Kiriburu, Anandapur, Keonjhar & Tata Sponge township participated in the workshop. It was conducted under the guidance of Padmashree Guru Gangadhar Pradhan, with assistance from Mr Prasanta Sahu, Mr Smrutiranjan Dash & Mr Ratnakar Panda.The event was organized by Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary, Vidya Shakti Niyas & Mrs Nibedita Nanda. It may be noted, Tata Sponge has been a strong proponent in nourishing the rich cultural heritage of Orissa. The seven days long workshop culminated into a grand cultural presentation on 9th May 2010, with the artistes showcasing their newly developed intricacies in the oriental dance form, in the Employee Recreation Club. Mr Suresh Thawani, Managing Director, Tata Sponge, Mr Jitu Patnaik, MLA & Chairman, District Cultural Association and Mr Dhanurjay Sidu, Ex-MLA graced the occasion as guests.The participants were given away certificates and the 700 plus audience coming from far & wide to witness the event, extended them a standing applaud. |
