Initiative RTI

Jajpur, October 3, 2009: As the first initiative to create awareness about the Right to Information Act (RTI) in the State, the Information Commission of Orissa and Tata Steel Rural Development Society have organized a function at Chingudiapal village in Jajpur district, where the Campaign on RTI has been formally launched today. A general health camp has also been organized to mark this occasion.

As part of this campaign, the Company will run,

  • RTI Clinics-cum-Citizen Assistance Centre in Keonjhar and Jajpur district
  • Multimedia campaigns through TV, Radio and SMS
  • Develop reading materials on information, education and communication (IEC) to support citizen’s initiative on RTI

Tata Steel has always played a pioneering role in strengthening the people’s rights.
