Mr. B K Singh Takes Over as President of UCCI

Mr B K Singh, the Vice-President of Tata Steel has been elected as the President of Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) today. His team members include, Mr Ramesh Mahapatra, Vice President, Mr Khalid Ahmad, Honerary Secretary and Mr S S Mishra, Treasurer along with other office bearers.

In his address as the new President of UCCI, a true representative body of corporate Orissa, Mr Singh said, along with promoting trade, commerce, industry and services in Orissa with a view to strengthen and expand economic activity in the State, the UCCI would foster just, equitable and globally competitive business environment compatible with free Enterprise of the New Millennium.

With a special thrust on creation of employability through SME development, UCCI would also invite Government’s partnership in developing industries in the Sate, Mr Singh added. He further expressed his interest in creating a data bank about all the industries present in Orissa, which will help the people for business expansions as part of current year’s agenda.

The new office bearers of UCCI were sworn-in during the 45th AGM held at UCCI office premises today. The UCCI members thanked the outgoing president, Mr Niranjan Mohanty and his Executive Council for bringing laurels to the Chamber in the last two years.
